Second prize at the Miquel Mas Molas Award to Textile Technical Research, 2004; granted by Miquel Mas Molas Foundation and the Institute for Catalan Studies, Barcelona.

Industrial plastics are explored as alternative components of textile structures at different stages of the textile process: spinning, fabric construction and finishing. Combining them with traditional textile materials, these plastics are used as effect material in the development of:

  • fancy yarns through hollow spinning technology, which are subsequently woven or knitted;
  • wool felts through wet felting techniques;
  • polyurethane thin films through a custom casting process.

The result is a collection of textiles and thin films, suitable for interior design applications.
